Individuals who have achieved the level of Highly Qualified Paraprofessional, as determined by the school district or supervisory union where they work, may apply for a Level IIIA certificate on the Northern Lights Career ladder. The Northern Lights application also requires experience and a current Individual Professional Development Plan. The Vermont Northern Lights Career Development Center works with many partners to unify and enhance the professional development system for early childhood and afterschool professionals in Vermont. It is funded by a grant from the Child Development Division of the Vermont Agency of Human Services.
